WHO WE SERVE
THESE ARE SOME OF OUR STUDENTS
UMA is an amazing family! It brings out the best in all of us, kids and adults, by balancing strength training, focused technique and sparring, and a collective mindset toward excellence! The biggest gift is the example of wisdom of Sensei John, James and the others provide to my son, wife and myself! It is so deep and you can tell they are sharing it from a place of life long learning, practical application, and connection to something greater than themselves. Osu!
UMA is a 3x/week commitment for my family. It has especially made a difference in: our performance under pressure, assisting with developing our daughter’s discipline/focus & strengthening our bodies and minds so we can deal with life powerfully. Martial arts teaches us to accept how things are and how they aren’t. The young men and women we train with are FAMILY. In and outside the dojo, John Sensei is one of the few teachers (and humans) I’ve met with the level of commitment and care to support us with whatever we are dealing with and with whatever comes up!
UMA is a community that pushes you to work on yourself whether you’re working on skill in martial arts and athleticism or you’re working on your own integrity and personal strength. From Sensei John Lyons down to the 7 y/o white belts, everyone pushes you to do and be your best.
